Futurama is a Tv show created by the creator of the simpsons, Matt Groening, and David X Cohen, a writter on the simpsons. The first season aired on the channel Fox. It is kind of chaotic to know in what season an episode belong because of the way Fox treated the show before downright cancelling it, then bringing it back for four movie and cancel it again. Comedy central then picked up the show and renewed it for a few more seasons
The show takes place in the year 3000 (and after as the seasons go on). Fry is a nobody delivery boy that used to live in the year 2000 until he got cryogenized for a thousand years. He now works for his great-great-great-(...)-nephew with Bender the robot and Leela the Alien. A simple premise for a lot of great episodes.

His full name is Philip J. Fry
He is the main protagonist of the animated sitcom Futurama. Fry was a native to the 20th century who was cryogenically frozen seconds into the year 2000, having fallen in just as 1999 ended. He was revived in 2999 and subsequently became a Delivery boy for the Planet Express Company. He is the protagonist of Futurama.
Her full name is Turanga Leela
She is the overall deuteragonist and female protagonist in Futurama. She is the tomboyishly and unbearably beautiful and insanely sexy one-eyed captain of the Planet Express ship.
His full name is Bender Rodriguez
He is a robot

She is the pentagonist and female deuteragonist on the show Futurama. She is the wife of Kif Kroker and the adoptive mother of Kif Kroker's offspring (Leela Fry's biological children). She is the attractive daughter of Leo Wong and Inez Wong and the daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Kroker (Kif's parents).

He is the hexagonist of Futurama, is a Grade 34 Jamaican bureaucrat and the accountant at Planet Express. He is afraid to make mistakes, as this may demote him to a lower grade.
His full name is Scruffy Scruffington
He is the Planet Express janitor. A recurring joke is that because he interacts so little with the rest of the employees, nobody remembers ever seeing him before. It has been revealed that he owns 40,000 shares of Planet Express, more than anyone else, because he strongly believes in the company. He is lazy and can usually be found in the basement of the building, watching the boiler and reading an edition of Zero-G Juggs or National Pornographic. He almost always refers to himself in the third person. He seems to be quite profound, such as questioning whether violence really solves anything after killing a fly.
His full name is John Zoidberg
He is the heptagonist in Futurama. He was born on the Planet Decapod 10 and moved to Earth to practice medicine after giving up comedy once. Despite being a self-proclaimed expert on Humans, he called Fry "young lady" when they first met and has confused Fry and Bender. He speaks, as all Decapodians do, with a heavy Yiddish accent. He is the nephew of famed eccentric movie celebrity Harold Zoid. On a number of occasions, Zoidberg has made mention of Hermes Conrad being his best friend.
A lot of the most memorable episodes of the show are the one that managed to touch emotionaly the fans. This is obviously my personnal opinion, everybody taste can differ from that list of my favorite episode of the show (in no particular order)
This episode while being really funny, is a real tear jerker at the end.
In this episode Fry exchanges hands with devil in order to create an opera play. It was the original finale for the show before it was renewed.
What's one of the best thing in sci-fi ? Time travel of course ! Prepare yourself to see the end of time and space (several times)
